SAP SuccessFactors 1H 2025 Release: Business AI
In the 1H 2025 release of SAP SuccessFactors Business AI, SAP is introducing a comprehensive suite of generative and conversational features. These will be available in both Joule (SAP’s AI chatbot) and Embedded AI, and will streamline core HR processes and empower users with more self-service capabilities.
Generative AI and Joule enhancements:
This release expands Joule’s generative AI toolkit with:
- Interview Feedback Insights: AI-driven analysis to help structure and summarise candidate feedback
- Performance Review Insights: automated highlights and sentiment scoring for performance discussions
- Successor Insights: data-backed recommendations for talent pipelining and succession planning
- 360° Review Sentiment Analysis: Natural language processing to identify key themes in peer feedback.
- Assisted Team Goals: AI-powered suggestions for goal setting aligned with organisational priorities.
- Bulk content translation: fast, high-fidelity translation of templates and documents across supported locales.
- Extended AI locales: broader language coverage to serve global workforces.
- Explain Pay: Contextual pay composition explanations delivered via chat.
- Manage document grounding (admin): admin-level control over how source documents inform AI responses.
Expanded self-service actions in Employee Central.
Within the Joule chat interface, managers and recruiters can now complete key Employee Central Recruiting tasks on the fly. There's no need to switch back to the SuccessFactors UI to do the following:
- Update a vacancy
- Update the FTE of a position.
- View auto-delegation details.
- Create and update auto-delegation rules.
- Turn off auto-delegation.
- View employer metadata.
Enhanced HR and Enterprise Service Management (ESM) capabilities
Joule's support extends beyond recruiting to encompass a range of HR processes and Enterprise Service Management (ESM) activities, including essential service-ticket workflows integrated into the chat.
- Time off: create time off requests in chat.
- Continuous performance: Provide interview feedback directly in Joule.
- Performance goals: Complete offboarding tasks based on due dates.
- Career Development & Learning: View your enrolled benefits, current role and target role.
- EC Payroll & ESM:

Ticket deflection: Joule can automatically suggest knowledge-base articles to resolve common payroll enquiries.
