SAP SuccessFactors 1H 2025 Release: Employee Central
The 1H 2025 release of SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central brings many interesting enhancements and usability improvements. With a sharp focus on personalization, streamlined administration, and profile-driven user experiences, this update empowers HR teams and end users alike.
Let’s take a closer look at the most important innovations shaping the future of employee data management.
Latest People Profile - Full Profile: A Centralized and Personalized Experience
One of the most significant changes is the further rollout of the Full Profile view, available via opt-in. It consolidates personal, job, compensation, and learning data into a cohesive, user-friendly interface.
Among the new profile sections are:
- Apprentice management and dismissal protection in personal data
- Cost assignment and funding details for public sector employees
- Extended compensation charts, including a new Compa Ratio vs. Team view (for managers only).
In the Benefits section, users will find three new summary cards: enrolled benefits, benefit actions, and important links – each designed for clarity and quick access.
Payroll is now even more accessible, with pay statement summaries and payroll data cards embedded directly in the profile for both employees and admins.
Learning: Embedded Development Insights
Learning content also gets a significant boost. Employees now see their latest learning history and required training in a dedicated section of their profile. Additionally, the system displays up to four current Opportunity Marketplace Assignments, complete with timeframes, statuses, and direct links.
Note: These views are for employees only. Managers do not have access to individual learning cards.
Smarter Org Chart & Workforce Visibility
SAP has also enhanced the organizational chart, offering more flexibility and transparency:
- Display multiple matrix managers
- Hide or show contingent workers
- Mark alumni and identify primary or multiple employments
The profile preview now includes login names, inactive status, contact numbers in list format, and even a Microsoft Teams integration. Users can also share a four-line self-description and benefit from a cleaner badge and tag experience within the Spotlight view.
More Admin Power, More Customization
With this release, admins gain greater control over how the People Profile is structured and who sees what:
- Rename predefined categories
- Define access by target roles
- Reorder categories and cards
- Move or delete cards accross and within categories
Meanwhile Quick Actions have been improved to support attachments and new workflows such as marital status changes and one-time payments.
A new Check Tool validation now ensures that every user’s job history starts with a Hire record, supporting data accuracy across the system. Plus, Mass Data Management has been extended to Job Information – available to both technical and non-technical users.
Streamlined Processes & Global Readiness
SAP also introduces a series of compliance-focused and process-optimizing updates:
- Self-service termination is now possible on the current date.
- The Rehire Inactive Employee function is being deprecated in favor of a duplicate check dialog.
- The general display name is now enabled for all customers and cannot be deactivated.
- A new standard element company (string) has been added.
- National ID fields now support validity periods.
- Integration with DocuSign allows digital document signatures directly from the system.
Integrated Recruiting and Organizational Planning
For teams working across recruiting and position management, SAP now enables the recruiting process to be launched directly from the position org chart. This strengthens the link between planning and execution and reduces time-to-action for recruiters and hiring managers.
Usability & Navigation: A More Intuitive Experience
The "As of Date" picker is now standardized across modules – including the legacy People Profile – improving consistency when viewing effective-dated data.
You can also now create deep links to specific profile categories, making it easier to guide users to the right section of their profile.
While searching for inactive employees within the latest profile isn’t yet available, SAP has added this to the roadmap.
Conclusion: The Profile Becomes a Strategic Hub
With the 1H 2025 release, SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central firmly establishes the People Profile as the central hub for managing the employee experience. Whether you're an employee, manager, or system administrator, this update provides more control, better visibility, and a more holistic view of the workforce.
